Let me start off by saying that my outfit cost me $15 total. Being a wedding guest doesn't mean you need to go buy a fancy dress or spend money on something you'll never wear again. I stand by the idea that you buy something that has multiple uses, can be dressed up or down, and can fit into most situations depending how you accessorize it.

One of the main reasons I love thrifted clothes is because it makes your style more unique. Take this outfit for example, I'm wearing Forever 21 boots and a Forever 21 sweater, and if this dress was from there too, my whole outfit would be from one store which wouldn't be very interesting. Instead, I mixed this bright thrifted dress from Closet Creep with my "new" Forever 21 items to make my outfit more unique and more me.

A few weeks ago we took our Westfalia to the Alabama Hills in Lone Pine, CA for a long weekend away. We wanted to get some sun, relax, and have a little adventure. This was only our second roadtrip in our Westfalia, and the last trip it rained almost the entire time. I'm a big fan of the desert, so when Adam showed me this place I instantly wanted to go! I hadn't even ever heard of it, but it's a similar vibe to Joshua Tree, except it's BLM land and not a national park. Which means you can camp anywhere (they have campgrounds nearby too), and your dog can roam around with you anywhere.

I kind of love the challenge of finding two different prints that work together. I purchased both these shorts and kimono at my local Plato's Closet recently. I bring clothes to sell there a lot, and then use the money I get back to buy "new" stuff! This kimono was BRAND NEW with the tags still on it, which is always my favorite find. It's actually a size large, but like I've mentioned before, clothing size doesn't matter. What matters is how YOU want your clothes to fit, based on your own personal style.

I think that a lot of peoples hesitation with caring about clothes and dressing cute is they think it means they will be uncomfortable. I'm here to tell you that being cute AND comfy is possible! My first pair of floral print, stretchy waist pants were from Forever 21. I love them and I always wanted another pair, so when I came across these Show Me Your Mumu pants on Poshmark, I snagged them up!

I love a good pair of sunglasses, hence why I have so many different ones! I usually alternate between a few pairs for a while, and then phase them out for new ones. When I say a while, I mean a few years. Adam got me my first "nice" pair of sunglasses for my birthday when we lived in San Luis Obispo. Which means I've had my Tory Burch sunglasses for at least 4 years and I still love them! I've recently discovered the brand Quay Australia, which has reasonably priced, SUPER cute sunglasses!

Our living room is the culmination of our mid century modern style meets antiques meets boho. The biggest thing was to paint the room white, and then we could bring everything in. We started the room with our large Joybird sectional and we worked around that. When figuring out the layout of this room we basically had two options for which wall would be the TV wall. There was an in wall plug for the TV already, on the wall it's now on, so we decided that made the most sense. Plus the way we have our couch allows for an "entry" area into the house where we put a long rug, a mirror and plant hanging on that wall.

We are back from a long weekend away in the Alabama Hills! If you follow me on Instagram, you may have thought I was in Joshua Tree, but I wasn't. I hadn't ever heard of this place until Adam showed it to me, and now I'm obsessed. It's like a less busy Joshua Tree where dogs are allowed everywhere! I'll do a full detailed post from our trip soon, once my film comes back and Adam puts together the video. One of things I love about adventuring is getting to photograph new backdrops and scenery that we don't have in the Bay Area. I'm always attracted to abandoned buildings and falling apart structures, so even though it started to rain on us, we did some photos anyway! :)

A good wedding photographer:
1. Will work on the wedding day timeline closely with the couple and planner, making sure everyone knows the timing and allows enough time for what the photographer needs.
They should provide a rough timeline for you as well as family list to guide you
2. Will organize groups for photos quickly, including family photos so you can get back to enjoying the party
3. Will help style details where needed and even works on the overall aesthetic with the couple throughout the wedding planning process
This includes helping the couple know where the best lighting is to place themselves (aka the ceremony) and decor
A good photographer will even move details around on the wedding as they see fit to give you the best photos
