I really am a morning person, but after only a few hours of sleep thanks to an INSANE wind storm, I didn't want to get up anymore for sunrise like we planned. After laying in bed in our Westfalia for a few minutes, I decided that I should get up so I don't miss getting to shoot in the glorious morning light :)If you follow me on Instagram, then you saw that I purchased 4 items for $26 from Forever 21 during their 50% off sale items sale 2 weeks ago.

A few weeks ago we took our Westfalia to the Alabama Hills in Lone Pine, CA for a long weekend away. We wanted to get some sun, relax, and have a little adventure. This was only our second roadtrip in our Westfalia, and the last trip it rained almost the entire time. I'm a big fan of the desert, so when Adam showed me this place I instantly wanted to go! I hadn't even ever heard of it, but it's a similar vibe to Joshua Tree, except it's BLM land and not a national park. Which means you can camp anywhere (they have campgrounds nearby too), and your dog can roam around with you anywhere.

We are back from a long weekend away in the Alabama Hills! If you follow me on Instagram, you may have thought I was in Joshua Tree, but I wasn't. I hadn't ever heard of this place until Adam showed it to me, and now I'm obsessed. It's like a less busy Joshua Tree where dogs are allowed everywhere! I'll do a full detailed post from our trip soon, once my film comes back and Adam puts together the video. One of things I love about adventuring is getting to photograph new backdrops and scenery that we don't have in the Bay Area. I'm always attracted to abandoned buildings and falling apart structures, so even though it started to rain on us, we did some photos anyway! :)

Most of you know that I'm a wedding photographer (on top of running this blog), so obviously photos are super important to me! It also means that sometimes I get to teach my friends photography stuff, like shooting film, and they just so happen to need a subject to shoot ;) I think a lot of photographers don't like being on the other side of the camera, but I actually do. It sounds vein, I know haha, but it's actually great practice for putting yourself in your clients shoes, and I've always been a fan of documenting my own life.
