Happy Friday!! This was literally one of the longest weeks ever for me, and I'm ready to be relaxing. What I love most about our house is our yard that we completely redid. It's like a private retreat for when we just want to stay home and hang in the sun. I love just walking out my backdoor and having a couch, chair swing, and fake grass to sit on.

One thing I love about working in a creative industry is all the amazing friends I've made over the years. I became friends with a group of girls a few months ago who have turned into some of my good friends rather quickly! They all make me laugh, we can talk wedding stories, and real life personal things too. One of those girls, Elise of Brannan Events, turned 26 and invited us all over for a backyard birthday party! It was the perfect way to end my long Memorial Day weekend! I think finding friends who really get you, in all aspects of your life, is so important to your happiness. Find those friends and hold them close.

Being a wedding photographer, I get asked a lot by my clients and wedding planners if I can get their wedding featured on a big name blog. I have a lot of experience being featured and being denied, so I do know what most of these blogs are looking for. Every blog is different, for example Green Wedding Shoes prefers funky, bold, unique weddings, while Style Me Pretty loves the pastel look of certain film photographers, the "pretty" weddings, and the expensive looking designs. Going into planning your wedding, you should know which blog you want your wedding to end up on, so you can make sure your aesthetic is right for that blog.

So if you've been following me for a while, then you know that I've been doing fun colors in my hair for almost 2 years! I started off with dark turquoise peekaboo's and then tried out different placements with different shades of purple, hot pink, light blue, pastel rainbow, and a mix of purple and blue. I feel so bored without color now, so I like to keep changing it up!

My friend recently bought flare pants, and her husband referred to them as "Danielle pants", so I guess flares have become my thing! haha. I love how soft and comfy they are, and how they are a good replacement for yoga pants or sweatpants. They can easily be paired with a fun flowy top, or just a long tshirt, like this cactus one from Vintage Chameleon. Since the weather has been so up and down, I added my fringe Forever 21 Sweater for when it's cold out. I also have to wear a chunky healed boot with flare pants, because I'm 5'5 and they seem to be made for people much taller then me. I have another pair of flare pants with a raw edge, so I trimmed those to be able to wear them with flatter shoes.

I've recently been really into cute sneakers! Finding comfortable shoes to wear is important, but I'm of course not willing to sacrifice style! I'd been wanting fringe sneakers for a while, so I found these grey ones from Guilty Soles. FYI, if you get them, size up! I normally wear a 9 in sneakers, but had to get a 10. I love wearing sneakers when I ride my bike, walking Sawyer on paved trails, and even just to make my outfit a bit funkier. I love the boho, grunge look, and I think it totally adds to that.

I don't know why, but I always love wearing my overalls (Voguish Threads) with a crop top or an off the shoulder shirt. I love the way it looks and how it shows a little skin. I think it also makes overalls look less childish when paired with these types of shirts. This shirt is from H&M ($10 on sale) at the Stoneridge Mall, but I got it last year so they probably don't have it anymore.

The other day I was asked if it takes me a while to pick out an outfit in the morning. So I decided to do a post on the steps for putting together the perfect styled outfit. If you start with one main item that you want to wear, it's usually pretty easy to make the rest fall into place. It's the hardest when you're just at a complete loss for what to wear and have no starting point. So step one, pick one item you really want to wear and start with that.

Two piece sets are kind of my jam, and how cute is this one from Phoenix & Kate?! I think one of the biggest things about wearable, everyday stylish clothes is how can it be easy. A big factor in people getting dressed in the morning, and opting for basic clothes, or not wanting to shop for new ones, is the hesitation of dressing cute being hard. It really doesn't have to be though, and a two piece set can be your answer!! I get asked a lot if it takes me a while to get dressed in the morning, and the answer is no. Being confident in your purchases will make it so you can easily get dressed in a pinch.

Hope you all had a good Mother's Day! We started the day off eating pancakes and bacon at my in-laws house and my mom came too. Adam's sister is in town for a week, so she made us all breakfast (I love when she's in town for so many reasons). I'm so thankful that our families get a long so well, and like being around each other. I for sure scored on the in-laws! :) I then went and met up with my friend Codie and her daughter, and we went downtown Pleasanton to the Dairy for ice cream. I don't know what it is about the Meadowlark Dairy's soft serve ice cream, but it's just the best!
