The other day I was asked if it takes me a while to pick out an outfit in the morning. So I decided to do a post on the steps for putting together the perfect styled outfit. If you start with one main item that you want to wear, it's usually pretty easy to make the rest fall into place. It's the hardest when you're just at a complete loss for what to wear and have no starting point. So step one, pick one item you really want to wear and start with that.
I knew I wanted to wear this graphic tee from Phoenix & Kate, so the outfit had to be built around that. This shirt is long, which for shorter girls could totally be worn as a dress. It's also a great option to wear over leggings or stretchy flare pants. Since its warm out, I opted to knot it and wear high waisted ripped jeans that I got at a thrift store. I didn't want to wear patterned shorts, because I knew I wanted to layer my shirt with a vest or kimono. I then searched through my kimonos and chose a thicker one, since this is a short sleeve shirt and I didn't want that bulkiness to show through. I also haven't worn this kimono much yet, so I was so excited to find the perfect outfit! I've been really into my Vans lately, so I threw those on to tie in the black of my kimono, then added my K.Michael Style necklace and Prada sunglasses from Frames Direct.
