Last weekend we were down in San Luis Obispo and when we drove by this turquoise building, I knew we had to stop for photos. Being a photographer, quirky buildings, fun colored walls, and open landscapes always call my name!
For this outfit, I mixed two different prints, tie dye and floral print. I think finding a way to make different patterns cohesive is a fun challenge. It keeps me thinking outside of the box and always reworking new outfits. Your closet can get stale fairly quickly if you aren't a big shopper, but learning how to mix and match can bring new outfits to life. I think the biggest factor for mixing and matching is having a color in common between the items. My skirt has a grey/black color and my kimono has a grey/brown color, so the dark tones work well together.
For the rest of my outfit, I added a denim Tobi crop top for some color, fringe sandals from Three Bird Nest, and my fav Quay Australia sunglasses. And there is ONE of this exact kimono left in a size large from Lolly Clothing, if you want to snag it, otherwise you can shop similar kimonos below. My skirt is from a thrift store, so I also linked to similar skirts below.
Have any specific prints you want to see me mix and match? Let me know!
Tips for this look:
1. Match like colors in different prints to be able to pull a mismatched outfit
2. Spend time playing around with different outfits and patterns when you have some free time. This will open up more outfit possibilities when you're in a pinch or feeling tired of your clothes.
