Thrifted "Little Black Dress"

March 29, 2017

You will RARELY find me in tight, fitted clothes like this. I just feel more comfortable in a flowy dress or loose fitting graphic tee. But sometimes you just need a little black dress for a fancier occasion, and I love the idea of finding something with fringe (DUH!). I really don't dress up often, in fact I find ways around it because I don't usually like the stereotypical fancy clothes. Fringe makes me happy, so this dress is totally my jam! As far as heels go, I'm not a heel girl, like I hate heels, I can't walk in them, my feet hurt, and usually I just don't think a classic pair of pumps are cute. Instead I go for platforms or lace up, thick heeled shoes, like these from Shiekh. They have such cute shoes, good sales, and usually have similar looking styles to Jeffrey Campbell. For jewelry, I always opt out of diamonds and jewels, and instead go for funky statement pieces. I think it really does make a statement, and keeps you looking less traditionally fancy. I'm really not concerned with looking like I fit in, I'd rather just stay true to my style and make my outfit work for whatever event it is that I'm attending. Don't let fashion rules dictate your outfit, instead, just keep in mind the event, find something that falls closely into that category, and then tweak it to be you! You might just see me bust this dress out again for Vegas in May ;)
