Styled Two Ways: Periwinkle Lace Romper

April 3, 2017

Rompers are kind of my favorite, because like dresses, it's one and done. The other thing I love about rompers is I feel like they can be dressed up or down really easily, depending on the occasion. I've seen this romper online for a while now (you've probably seen the maxi version of this dress), and wondered well how do I wear a bra with that?! Personally, I don't have a ton going on in the boob area to need a bra very often, but I do LOVE bralettes and any reason to wear one. I decided that this romper was the perfect item to show styled two different ways, for those who need a bra with it and those who don't. Each outfit is also geared towards different occasions, one more "everyday" and the other more of a going out look.

For the "everyday" look, I started with my new bralette that I got from Three Bird Nest (bralette blog post is coming soon!). I love the criss cross in the front, making it interesting to be shown in the opening of the romper. I then added my fav fringe gladiator sandals, also from Three Bird Nest. These sandals make my lace romper extra casual, as does my camo jacket, added for cool spring/summer days and nights. And of course I finished the look by layering two chokers. So now you have the answer for how to wear a bra with a low cut romper: bralettes!

For the "going out" look, I'm going braless! I love the plunging neckline, so I took advantage of that and added my Free People bolo necklace. I always have to take a purse with me when I'm going out, because I don't leave home without my phone, chapstick, and of course wallet. No one wants to carry around a giant bag if you're out with friends, so this neon yellow cross body bag from Violet Ray, has been my go to for a while! It has 2 zipper pockets, which keep my small items very organized. Lastly, let's discuss shoes. So by now you should know that I'm not a heel girl, so my version of a heel is always a bootie heel or a platform. This pair is from Shiekh, which I got with another pair during an amazing deal they were having!
