If you follow me on Instagram, then you know that this his party didn’t go quite as planned due to COVID-19. About half of our guests didn’t wind up coming which was hard for me. But we made the most of it and enjoyed our last day with (most) of our favorite people for quite a while! Any time I get to celebrate my baby boy is a good time :) It was so fun to see my decor visions come to life and to see Fischer playing with his friends. I LOVE birthdays so this was a special day for me for so many reasons! Thanks to everyone who celebrated with him or wished him a happy birthday from afar! Here’s a glimpse it’s his party at Creative Space Studios. Photos by Adriana Klas.

Dessert:
My friend Iced To Perfection made the cookies for Fischer’s party. I told her the theme was (modern) party animals and requested Sawyer be one of the animals. She did a great job making the cookies feel fun yet modern! We picked up Nothing Bundt Cakes as well, and for Fischer’s cake I chose no icing to keep it less messy. Another friend of mine, Pluma & Pine, made acrylic cut outs of a giraffe and Sawyer for extra decor and the Fischer Is One wood sign. We decorated the table with disco balls and animals with party hats!
Confetti wall :
I bought this box of confetti off Craigslist about 5 years ago. We’ve used it a lot, and originally bought it for our wedding. For Fischer’s party, we decided to make a confetti wall for photos. We took 10 pieces of white poster board, sprayed spray adhesive on it, and then poured confetti on it and patted it down. To hang them, we just used thumb tacks. It was a super easy project and I saved the backdrop for future parties :) I got the zebra, giraffe, and the 1 balloon from Amazon (linked at the top of this post).
Play area for the babies:
Since Fischer and his baby friends are all still crawling (no walkers as of his birthday party), I wanted to have a soft place for them to play. I rented this all from Kiddie Party Rentals. It was great to have and the babies loved it! It also kept them away from things they shouldn’t be touching and we didn’t have to worry about them crawling or falling on the concrete floors.
The Fischer Is One + disco ball + green backdrop:
Creative Space Studios just happened to paint the backdrop green in March, which worked perfectly with the color scheme of his party. I planned to use it as the backdrop of him eating his cake and other photos as well. We hung the Fischer Is One wood cut out from the ceiling with a disco ball and it looked great!
Custom book:
At our baby shower we had everyone draw a page to make an alphabet book for Fischer and I loved the personalized idea of it. So for his birthday party, I had everyone get their photo taken, paste it on the page, write their name and what they like to do, and draw a photo of it. It’s a great way for Fischer to be able to learn all the names and faces of his favorite people! I made the pages in Photoshop and printed them out. Once the book is complete (I’m waiting to get more pages from friends who couldn’t make it), my mom will laminate and bind it.
More candid moments:
One of the reasons I hired a photographer for his party was for the candid moments. I loved being able to just have fun with our friends and family and let her take all the photos!!
Food:
We did a charcuterie board because Fischer LOVES cheese! We just went to Trader Joes and picked up a lot cheese, crackers, fruit, meat and bread. The party was mid afternoon between lunch and dinner so snacks were perfect!
