It's time to start revealing the Poff Pad! I decided to start with our backyard renovation because it's the most drastic change. It started off with a deck, real grass, tons of tan bark, some plants, and 2 old doors that led out to the backyard. We wanted to make as much usable space as we could, as well as keep it low maintenance. The mid century modern/Palm Springs vibe was our inspiration, and after looking at countless images online, we came up with this design. We tore apart the yard ourself, then had someone come in and lay concrete in the design we wanted, had fake grass installed (no watering, mowing, no mud for Sawyer to track in, and always looks green!), and then Adam built the pergola and we added some potted plants to bring in some color. We also added new light fixtures, 2 new doors since the previous ones were old and letting air into the house, and we had the house painted a dark blue. We've already thrown a few parties back here, and it's such a great entertaining space! We still need to get new fences and do some work on our large side yard, but for now we are super happy with the changes :) Stay tuned for a future blog post for when our side yard is complete with decomposed granite and a fire pit area.
